I heard there was a superstition that the groom is not supposed to
see the bride in her dress or the bridesmaid dresses prior to the
wedding. Is this true?

This is true that long ago the groom was not supposed to see the
bride prior to their wedding. Understand that many marriages were
pre-arranged back when this tradition started. The thought was that
the arranged marriage could be ruined if the groom didn't like the
look of the bride. I don't think the wedding gown itself or
bridesmaid dresses are much of a concern, unless the gown is hideous
or something like on the
ugly bridesmaid dresses page.

get input from the

since they are going to be the ones wearing the bridesmaid dresses.
Check out a bridesmaid dress catalog or in current wedding magazines
and then look for a dress like it that may be more reasonable to
save money. Also look at fall accents to the bridesmaid dresses and
the wedding gown that will dazzle the crowd as well as be

What type of thinks should I take into consideration with my
bridesmaid dresses since I don't have much help and many of the
bridesmaids don't have much funds right now for their bridesmaid

We always recommend Fall colors which include the beautiful colors
of yellow, orange, cream and even light brown but not anything heavy
such as dark colors and black. Some light blues also can look
beautiful. Just make sure the bridesmaid dresses can be functional
and used once again by the
bridesmaids
as they are usually paying for the dress and would like to get some
use out of it after the wedding. I hope this helps and have a

It is great you are thinking about your friends as for the
bridesmaid dresses as many times they can be expensive with
everything else your friend's are paying for even though you want
your wedding as perfect as possible! There is no rule on having
non-traditional bridesmaid dresses at a wedding as you should be
comfortable and happy with the way they visually look as well as
having happy bridesmaids and a maid of honor that will appreciate
you thinking like this. Summer is a hot time with dresses,

Answer for May
The bridesmaid dresses are usually paid for by the bridesmaids. We
do suggest making sure the bridesmaid dresses can be worn again as
they are paying for them and they can be somewhat expensive when
looking at everything a bridesmaid also is paying for (even though
they are happy to do this for the bride-to-be). We suggest including
the bridesmaids in the final decision of which bridesmaid dress you
pick if you are willing to do this as it makes the bridesmaids feel
they have some decision in what they are purchasing.

The weather is getting more warm but it is a hit and miss to have
the bridal shower and wedding outside. What do you suggest?

Look at seasonal patterns and have a back up plan if the weather
turns sour to not let your bridal shower or wedding rain out!
Instead, have the bridal shower and wedding at a place with nice
large windows and great scenery so you can have the best of both
worlds and enjoy the parties. The bridesmaid dresses can be light
and for warmer weather this way.
